The Indian Industrial Hemp Association recently received $150 million from investors and is currently trying to pass more progressive hemp farming laws. Industrial hemp is already legal to grow but must contain 0.3% THC or less. Since the majority of the wild hemp that grows in India contains more than the legal limit, this organization is trying to raise the federal limit to 1.5% THC. India’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Acts of 1985 allowed state governments to establish their own policies for commercial hemp cultivation.
